Guaxi Origin

by s3lmoni

Guaxi Origin is a Fabric origin mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that gives a player a purple raccoon named Guaxi, with powers built around momentum, swimming, fishing and a small body.

What it does

The origin adds a new playable race, a little purple raccoon called Guaxi, selectable when a player picks an origin. Each trait comes with a primary or secondary power, so the choice changes how the character sprints, swims, eats, fishes and climbs. Light Body and Small Size make the character weaker in some respects, for example heavy armor and tools are harder to use, in return for extra speed and a safer fall distance.

Guaxi Origin requires Origins and Pehkui on Fabric. The mod runs on the server only, so players join without installing it, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Files are published for Fabric and cover only the 1.20.1 game version, with 2.3.1-1.20.1 as the latest file, dated 2026-05-18.

Key features

  1. Momentum power

Sprinting gradually becomes faster, and after enough momentum built up, attack damage starts increasing.

  2. Swimming and fishing

Great swimming speeds up movement in water, while fishing with a rod grants a Luck effect.

  3. Noodling

Sneaking while looking at water lets the character catch fish with bare hands.

  4. Resilient stomach

A stronger stomach allows eating rotten food without the usual side effects, and a Faster Metabolism trade-off requires eating more to stay nourished.

  5. Small body traits

Small Size gives less health but more speed and a safer fall distance, and Limited Climbing lets the character climb smooth-surfaced blocks.
