Grid 2.0

by Choir Studios

Grid 2.0 is a crafting utility for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt that changes the recipes of several vanilla workstations and items.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.026.1 – 26.2

What it does

Grid 2.0 adds new uses for items that vanilla players rarely craft, by revising numerous recipes for the Crafting Table, Stonecutter, Furnace and Blast Furnace. The aim is to make crafting decisions count and to give old items a role again. Horse armor, saddles and name tags can be crafted from materials players gather, so they no longer depend on rare chest finds.

The mod is server required with an optional client: a server that runs Grid 2.0 applies the changed recipes, and players may add it on their side as well. Builds cover 26.1 – 26.2 on all four loaders, and a data pack version is also available. The code is not open source; it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0 license, which limits commercial use. Its latest file, 2.1.5 for 26.2, was published on 2026-08-17.

Key features

  1. Revised workstation recipes

Recipes for the Crafting Table, Stonecutter, Furnace and Blast Furnace are reworked to use a wider set of items.

  2. Forgotten items return

Items that seldom have a use in vanilla gain crafting paths, so they become worth collecting.

  3. Horse gear from gathered materials

Horse armor, saddles and name tags can be made from materials players collect, without waiting for a chest loot roll.

  4. Balanced crafting choices

Changed costs and outputs are meant to keep alternative routes comparable, so one recipe does not dominate the others.

Use cases

Who it’s for: Players who want more reasons to craft and server owners who would rather change recipes than add new blocks or items. Because the mod changes recipes and not content, it suits existing worlds with an established economy.
