Fullbright

Before version 1.19 a player could raise the gamma value in config.txt to see dark caves and nights more clearly. Mojang later patched that route, and Fullbright restores the effect by taking the original gamma value from the game settings and multiplying it by 2 or 3. The result is a brighter view without editing files by hand.

The darkness effect introduced in 1.19 is not corrected by the mod, because brightening it would remove the atmosphere the effect is meant to create. Some players also reported that the darkness effect turns slightly blue and looks odd when moving, which the mod does not address.

Only the client needs Fullbright, since it changes how the game draws the screen. The mod is published for Fabric alone, with one file, 1.0+1.19, for 1.19, dated 2022-06-12. Its author has stopped updating it, and the code is under the MIT License but the project is not open source.
