FTB Quest Translator

by anoubios

FTB Quest Translator is a client-side addon for FTB Quests that translates quest titles, subtitles and descriptions into the player's language.

What it does

Quest text is translated in real time through free translation APIs, including Google Translate. A translate button sits inside the quest view panel, so a player can switch a quest's text to another language without leaving the screen. Settings such as API keys, translation providers and animations are changed in-game through a configuration screen built with FTB Library, so no config files need editing by hand.

The mod reads the Minecraft language setting and translates quests into that language automatically. The Target Language option uses standard ISO language codes. A green T marker on the Minecraft Language Options screen shows which languages are supported. Results are cached in memory, so repeated views of a quest do not make new API calls. Translation works only on the client, so players can use it on a multiplayer server without any server setup.

FTB Quest Translator requires FTB Quests and FTB Library on Fabric, Forge or NeoForge. Builds target 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, with files for 1.20.1, 1.20.4 and 1.21.1. The latest file for each loader is 1.5.0, published on 2026-10-14. The code is open source under the MIT License and the source is public.

Which translation provider should be chosen?

DeepL is recommended by the author for preserving context and formatting. Google Translate is also available and needs no paid key.
