Freelook For Clients
by Pixelstormer
Freelook For Clients is a client-side utility that lets a player look around without turning the character.
What it does
A freelook keybind lets the player observe the surroundings while the character keeps facing the same way. The view and the aim are decoupled, so the direction shown on screen is no longer the direction the character is aiming. Freelook For Clients needs Fabric API on Fabric, and Quilted Fabric API (QFAPI) or Quilt Standard Libraries (QSL) on Quilt. Only the client needs it, and it is released under the Apache License 2.0, so the code is open source. Builds cover 1.18.2 – 1.20.1.
Key features
Freelook keybind
A keybind holds the camera free while the character stays in place, so the surroundings can be inspected without turning.
Decoupled aim
Looking direction and aiming direction are separated, so the character keeps its heading while the view moves.
Client-side operation
The effect applies only on the player's own screen, with no changes sent to the server.

What the author says
This is NOT a freecam mod! Freecam lets you detach your camera from your player and move it around as though you were in spectator mode, whereas freelook only serves to decouple the direction you're looking from the direction you're aiming. Freelook For Clients is licenced under the Apache 2.0 license.
