FPSFlow

by Affenix Studios

Players who want higher frame rates in Minecraft 26.2 can use FPSFlow, a Fabric mod that targets the largest rendering bottlenecks in vanilla Minecraft.

FabricClient-side onlyGNU Affero General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.21.11 – 26.2

What it does

FPSFlow runs on the client alone, so only the player's game needs it and a server can run without it. Its optimizations are individually toggleable, and a single preset setting covers four built-in performance profiles, with each profile rewriting the other settings automatically. On startup it detects installed mods and disables any features that overlap with them, and the config file is written automatically on first run.

The mod is published for Fabric only, for game versions 1.21.11 – 26.2, with the latest file 1.8.3 for 26.2 released on 2026-07-29. It is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only. Fabric API is required, and ModMenu is optional for an in-game settings screen. The author pairs FPSFlow with Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore, ImmediatelyFast and EntityCulling, which are the recommended companions.

Key features

  1. Entity culling

Entities hidden behind geometry are skipped during rendering, using a cache that refreshes every 10 ticks by default.

  2. Occlusion sampling

Each entity's eye position is raycast from slightly above its geometric centre, which reduces false positives on small entities such as floating heads and armor stands.

  3. Performance profiles

Four built-in presets adjust hardware-related settings in one step, and each can be tuned separately afterwards.

  4. Resource pack handling

When a server pack reloads, rendering pauses for up to 3 seconds so item-frame maps and the hotbar show correct textures once the pack loads.
