ForgedAPI is a Forge library that partially reimplements parts of Fabric API, so Fabric-oriented code can run on Forge.

What it does

The library provides a partial reimplementation of Fabric API on Forge. Its scope covers the base Fabric API functions, the Fabric lifecycle events and an Indigo renderer interface. Mods that depend on those Fabric pieces can use the matching functions on Forge through this library.

Two of its requirements are Fabric Rendering Reforgium and Fabric Rendering. The 1.16.5 build needs Reforgium because some of its features are already included there. Fabric Rendering depends on the Fabric Renderer API and its Indigo implementation, so those are pulled in alongside it. The library itself does not let a Fabric mod run on Forge.

Either side can run it, and neither needs it. Files target Forge for 1.16.5, 1.18.2 and 1.19.2, with 0.1.1+1.16.5 for 1.16.5 as the latest file, published in the alpha channel on 2023-05-27. The code is released under the Apache License 2.0 and is open source, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
