Force Crawl

Force Crawl lets a player crawl on demand, using a keybinding that either toggles crawling on and off or applies only while the key is held.
What it does
The mod gives players manual control over crawling. A key can be tapped to switch crawling on or off, or held down so that crawling lasts only while the key is pressed. Fabric API is required, and Mod Menu is optional for its settings screen. Both the client and the server need the mod, since the crawl state has to match on each side.
Builds are published for Fabric only, covering 1.17 – 1.21 with 16 release versions. The latest file is 1.0.3 for 1.19.4, a beta release from 2024-07-31. The code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Manual crawl control
Players decide when to crawl instead of having it triggered automatically by the surrounding space.

A tapped key switches crawling on or off and stays in that state until the key is tapped again.

A key held down activates crawling, and crawling stops once the key is released.
