Floating Candles
by Nordiago
Floating Candles lets players place candles in mid-air, without a support block beneath them, on Fabric for 26.3.
What it does
Vanilla candles need a solid block under them or beside them, which makes building rows of hovering lights slow. The mod removes that requirement, so a candle can be set on empty air or on top of another candle. The mod works in singleplayer and on multiplayer servers, where it is server-side only: players join without installing it, and only the server needs it. Builds cover 1.21.5 – 26.3 on Fabric, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Floating placement
Candles can be placed on empty air with no support block under them.
Stacking candles
A candle can be placed on another candle, so lights can be arranged in tall or wide groups.
Singleplayer and servers
The same placement rules apply in a singleplayer world and on a multiplayer server.

Oddly, this used to be a vanilla feature when candles were first added, but then it was patched out... Want to skip the support blocks? Floating Candles lets you do that! Place candles…
