Flat Dimensions
by Klinbee
Flat Dimensions is a datapack that caps terrain sea level in the Overworld, Nether and End, so worlds can be generated as flat layers.
What it does
Flat Dimensions changes the terrain of the three vanilla dimensions through a datapack, setting a flat sea level for each. Players add it from the datapack screen while creating a world, and the flat layout then applies to the whole world rather than a single preset. Because the terrain is capped, the usual caves and ravines do not generate in these worlds.
Creators who want a superflat world beyond the built-in preset can use the mod as a base. The author notes that datapacks allow custom superflat presets, but a preset can only use a single biome, and changes to structures or feature generation must be made globally, so the mod covers the dimensions instead. Nether fossils are placed below lava in the Nether, a case the author says could not be solved with a datapack alone until a later change.
The mod is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. Its files target 1.20 – 1.21.10, with 1.0.1 as the latest build, first released on 2025-08-03 and last updated on 2025-10-17. The server needs it, while clients may leave it out. It is also available as a data pack for server platforms.
Key features
Flat sea level per dimension
A datapack setting caps the sea level of the Overworld, Nether and End separately.
Superflat-style worlds
Worlds are generated as flat layers, with the terrain limited to the chosen height.
Set up at world creation
The datapack is added from the datapack screen while a new world is created.
Global terrain change
Because the change applies to the dimensions globally, it affects all terrain generation in them.

What the author says
"Aw I wish it was just like the 'Overworld' Superflat Preset, where it doesn't have caves..." Check out my No Caves pack! It now has support for this pack, meaning you can have a caveless overworld and nether for a true superflat experience!
