Find My Blimp

by holy_buckets

Find My Blimp lets players mark waypoints on Aeronautics vehicles built with Create contraptions, using a right-click with Create Engineer's Goggles.

NeoForgeClient and serverGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.21.1

What it does

A waypoint is placed by right-clicking a vehicle with the goggles equipped, and it stays attached to the vehicle as it moves. Right-clicking again with the goggles in hand removes the marker. Waypoints can be shown always, only while wearing the goggles, only while crouching, or only while wearing the goggles and crouching.

The mod targets NeoForge for 1.21.1 and needs Balm, Create and HB's Foundation to run. Create, the contraption system it builds on, is required, so a server running Find My Blimp also runs Create. The code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code is public. The server and every player need the mod installed.

Key features

  1. Waypoints on vehicles

Set a waypoint on an Aeronautics vehicle with a right-click and the marker travels with the vehicle.

  2. Visibility modes

Choose whether waypoints show always, only while wearing goggles, only while crouching, or both.

  3. Survives rebuilding

When a vehicle is deconstructed and rebuilt in the same spot, its waypoint is restored and stays visible for a few seconds.

  4. HB's Find Blimp

The in-game waypoint system is named HB's Find Blimp in the mod's configuration and interface.

Use cases

Finding a parked airship

A player marks a vehicle before leaving it, then locates it again from a distance using the visible marker.

Tracking vehicles on a server

Server members can keep track of shared Aeronautics vehicles, with visibility limited to those who wear goggles.

Who it’s for: Players who build Aeronautics vehicles with Create contraptions and want a way to locate them again, and server owners running that modpack.
