Mining World

by Denfop

Mining World is a Forge and NeoForge world generation mod that creates a separate mining dimension with ores placed by JSON settings.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.19.2 – 1.21.8

What it does

The mod adds a separate mining world whose ore generation is customizable. Each ore type is defined in its own file: the block it replaces, the height range, the vein size, the number of veins per chunk and the chance of spawning. Installing the mod and running its command sends a player to the mining world, where those settings take effect.

Configuration files are located in the mod's JSON folder, and an example file for iron ore is included to show the format. Server owners can create their own ore sets this way without modifying the mod's code. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across seven game versions, 1.19.2 – 1.21.8, and the code is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Separate mining world

Ore generation takes place in a dedicated dimension, apart from the ordinary overworld terrain.

  2. JSON-driven ore sets

Each ore is described in a JSON file that sets the replaced block, height range, vein size and spawn chance.

  3. Veins per chunk

The number of veins placed in each chunk is set per ore, which controls how dense the deposits are.

  4. Custom ore sets on servers

Server owners add or change ores through configuration files, so no change to the mod's code is needed.

Use cases

Server mining areas

A server owner can define a mining dimension with its own ore distribution, separate from the normal world.

Custom ore progression

Ore height ranges and spawn chances can be tuned per ore, so rarer materials sit deeper or appear less often.

Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack authors who want a mining dimension with ore generation they can define in configuration files.
