Even Better Amethyst

by FrozenHydrant

Even Better Amethyst adds a few purple decoration blocks, with amethyst-based recipes, to Minecraft Java Edition on Forge.

ForgeClient and serverGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.19.2 – 1.21.1

What it does

Silk Touch on a pickaxe collects the budding amethyst block whole, so it can be relocated, which makes farming amethyst shards easier. The mod also adds a small set of decoration blocks made from amethyst. One is a light source with the look of purple glowstone and an amethyst counterpart to the ordinary redstone lamp that emits light when given redstone power. Others are perfect inclines, half blocks and durable bricks crafted from amethyst, and a compact block for storing amethyst shards.

Installation covers the server and each player's game. Files are published for Forge only, for 1.19.2, 1.19.4, 1.20.1, 1.20.2 and 1.21.1, and the latest file is 1.0.5 for 1.20.1. The source code is available under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, so it is open source, and the project has a public issue tracker. The author suggests JEI for viewing the new recipes and notes that the mod can be distributed inside modpacks.

Key features

  1. Silk Touch on budding amethyst

A Silk Touch pickaxe collects budding amethyst intact, so the block can be moved to another place.

  2. Amethyst redstone lamp

The lamp emits light and turns on when it receives redstone power, in the same way as the ordinary lamp.

  3. Amethyst decoration blocks

Glowing blocks, perfect inclines, half blocks and bricks are crafted with amethyst for building.

  4. Compact shard storage

A block stores amethyst shards in a compact form, so large collections take less inventory space.
