Euphoria Companion

by Eclipse_Sol

Euphoria Companion is a client-side utility for shader developers that checks shaderpack block definitions against the blocks registered in the running game.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient-side onlyCC0 1.0 UniversalOpen source1.7.10 – 1.21.11

What it does

The mod scans shaderpacks, both folders and zip archives, for block.properties files. It compares the blocks those files define with the blocks registered in the game, so a shaderpack author can see which blocks were never added to the shader and which render layers may not match because of other mods interfering. Lists are written to the logs folder, and the scan is repeated with the F6 key after a file is edited, without restarting the game.

The mod also lists the entities loaded in the game and writes them to a log file under logs/euphoriacompanion. Version 2.0.0 is a rewrite that the author describes as faster and more reliable than the earlier builds. Only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it. Fabric API, Forgified Fabric API and Sinytra Connector are required dependencies, and NotEnoughItems Unofficial 1.7.10 is an optional one. The code is released under CC0 1.0 Universal and is open source, with a public source repository and issue tracker.

Key features

  1. Shaderpack analysis

Directory and zip shaderpacks are scanned for block.properties files, so their block definitions can be read.

  2. Block comparison

Blocks registered in the game are matched against those defined in a shaderpack, showing what the shader is missing.

  3. Entity listing

Entities loaded in the game are written to a log file under logs/euphoriacompanion for inspection.

  4. Reload with F6

After editing a block.properties file, the F6 key processes it again without relaunching the game.
