Epic Structures: Villages Standalone Edition
by HardWater
Epic Structures: Villages Standalone Edition overhauls Minecraft villages by spawning new village designs separately from the vanilla ones, so both can exist in the same world.
What it does
Villages generated by the mod appear next to the vanilla villages rather than replacing them. Servers that run it get the extra villages during world generation, and players who join do not need anything installed beyond what the server provides.
The mod works alongside generation mods and Guard Villagers, according to the author notes. Its author also lists recommended companion mods that help with lag, and the page notes that Enhanced Block Entities and Entity Culling appear among the supporting mods. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and as a data pack for server platforms, with 27 release versions covering 1.19 – 26.3. The license is All rights reserved, so the code is not open source.
The server must run it, while players may leave it out. Recent builds target 26.3, and the latest file for each loader was published 2026-09-07, with the first release on 2026-09-06.
Key features
Separate village spawning
New villages spawn alongside vanilla villages instead of replacing them, so existing village locations stay as they are.
Village overhaul
The mod changes how villages look and where they appear, giving a world more and varied settlements to explore.
Generation mod compatibility

Use cases
Survival worlds
Server owners who want more settlements on a map can add the mod and let new villages generate in unexplored chunks.
Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack builders who want more village variety in a world, with optional support for generation mods and Guard Villagers.
How it compares
Epic Structures: Witch Huts is also a server-side mod released under All rights reserved, covering witch huts rather than villages, for the same range. No More Villages uses an MIT License and targets 1.18.2 – 1.21.4, so it supports fewer recent versions than this mod. Forest Villages is also MIT licensed and covers 1.18.2 – 26.2.
