End Progression

by cobaltnoodle

End Progression restricts certain mob spawns on a Forge server until the Ender Dragon has been defeated, for modpack creators who want to control progression.

ForgeServer-side onlyWTFPL1.20.1

What it does

Mob spawning is limited through a tag named end progression:entity types/restrict spawns. The tag is empty by default, so the mod changes nothing until a configuration adds the mobs to block. Once the Ender Dragon is defeated, those mobs can spawn again. Whether restrictions apply can be set for a specific dimension, and the endprog set and endprog get commands change and check that state. Only the server needs the mod, so players join without installing anything. Released under the WTFPL, so the mod is not open source.

Key features

  1. Configurable mob restriction

Mobs listed in the restrict spawns tag stay out of the world until the Ender Dragon is defeated.

  2. Empty tag by default

Nothing is restricted until a pack author adds entries to the tag in the configuration.

  3. Dimension-specific commands

Restrictions can be enforced or lifted in a chosen dimension, and the endprog set and endprog get commands adjust and read that setting.
