Ecological Replenishment Station brings fantastical creatures, based on scientific conjectures about an alternative evolutionary history, into a Forge world for Minecraft 1.20.1.

What it does

The mod explores what life might have looked like had evolution taken a different branch from one rooted ancestor with a hexapod structure. Its new creatures are built on two core principles, and the biomes it adds are meant to feel both bizarre and wondrous while still following the laws of natural selection. Many of the creatures show convergent evolution traits that echo animals already in the main world.

Every creature in the mod shares one basic body blueprint: six limbs. Those limbs have been specialized for different environments, so some are shaped for walking or running, others for climbing, digging, grasping, or even flying. The mod is built for Forge and covers 1.20.1 only, with the latest file, 1.2.1, published on 2026-06-25. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. The code is under All rights reserved and is not open source, though source code and an issue tracker are publicly linked.

  3. New biomes

A set of added biomes fills the world with habitats built around the new creature designs.

  4. Convergent traits

Several creatures show traits that resemble animals already in the main world, shaped by similar pressures.
