Echomist
by magmabits
Echomist, from magmabits, extends the Deep Dark biome with decoration blocks, weapons, and utility items built from materials that see little use elsewhere.
What it does
Echomist is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that targets the Deep Dark. Its ambracite material is used for placeable blocks, which can be obtained through a stonecutter, and for a falchion weapon and a token item. The mod also allows Sculk Catalyst to be placed below a Budding Amethyst, a combination vanilla does not offer.
The mod is set in the Deep Dark, so its content fits exploration of that biome and the materials found there. Its affliction effect halves the healing a target receives and fills the target bar when hit, while the token restores two hearts to its user and grants them a lasting regeneration boost. Silence potions are included as well.
Echomist runs on the client and on the server, so both sides need the mod. Files are published for Fabric only, for 1.20.1, with 3.2.1 as the latest build dated 2025-07-29. The mod is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license and is not open source.

Deep Dark builds
Players constructing bases or scenes in the Deep Dark can use ambracite blocks for decoration.
Combat with affliction
The falchion and its affliction effect give players a way to slow a target's healing during fights.
