Easy Spawner Control

by BoboTweaks

With a crafted Spawner Key, a player can right-click any mob spawner and open a settings screen that offers presets for spawn speed, mob count and activation range.

FabricClient and serverMIT License1.21.8 – 1.21.11

What it does

Spawners can be opened with a Spawner Key, which can be required for access, and once opened the menu cycles spawn speed, mob count and activation range without editing NBT data. Key-gated access uses cooldowns so players cannot spam changes, and server operators and Creative players can bypass the throttle.

Mining rules are granular: spawners can be gated behind Silk Touch and minimum pickaxe tiers, and a mined spawner can either drop intact or turn into air. Intact drops can be disabled in favor of spawner fragments, which scale with Fortune and form a grindable upgrade path. Per-mob egg drop rates, allow and deny lists, and per-player cooldowns make up a mob-egg trade system, and fragments can also be set to pay out XP.

A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. It is published for Fabric only, across 1.21.8 – 1.21.11, and is released under the MIT License but is not open source. Its configuration files are generated on first launch with comments and sane defaults, and most changes apply after a reload or restart.

Key features

  1. Spawner Control menu

A menu opens from a right-clicked spawner and adjusts spawn speed, mob count and activation range through presets.

  2. Key-gated access

Opening spawners can require a Spawner Key, with per-player cooldowns that throttle menu use.

  3. Spawner mining overhaul

Mining can require Silk Touch and a minimum pickaxe tier, with the choice of dropping the spawner intact or leaving air.

  4. Spawner fragments

Fragments replace intact drops when those are disabled, scaling with Fortune and carrying optional XP payouts.

  5. Mob-egg economy

Egg drop chances are set per mob, with whitelists and blacklists that decide which mobs can drop eggs.
