DupKeys

by noeppi-noeppi

DupKeys lets one physical key trigger a game action that is normally bound to a different key, for Forge players on 1.20.1.

ForgeClient-side onlyApache License 2.0Open source1.16.4 – 1.20.1

What it does

DupKeys adds 8 virtual keys that each bind several physical keys to the same action. A player picks an action id from options.txt, sets it in the dupkeys-client.toml config under a kb value such as key.attack, and then assigns the matching Virtual Key in the Controls options. The example in the author text binds attack or break to the left mouse button as well as the usual key.

Only the client needs the mod, so a server can run without it and players do not need it on a server to use it. Files exist for Forge only, across 12 release versions, 1.16.4 – 1.20.1, and LibX is required. The code is open source under the Apache License 2.0.

Key features

  1. Eight virtual keys

Eight Virtual Key bindings appear in the Controls options, each able to carry a second physical key for one action.

  2. Config-based action ids

Actions are set in dupkeys-client.toml using their ids from options.txt, so any bindable action can be duplicated.

  3. Mouse and keyboard together

A single action can respond to the left mouse button and a keyboard key at the same time, as in the attack example.

What the author says

Let's say you want to bind the attack/break key to the left mouse button and the button 'n'. Then you'd first open the config dupkeys-client.toml and set the value of kb1 to key.attack. To find out the action ids, you can take a look in options.txt.
