DisableCommand

by laowang

DisableCommand is a NeoForge server mod that lets administrators block chosen commands, using a config file and an in-game gamerule.

NeoForgeServer-side onlyAll rights reserved1.21.1 – 1.21.11

What it does

Server administrators list the commands to block in a config file, one command string per line. Blocking uses prefix matching, so a listed entry also stops longer forms of that command, and gamemode entries block the gamemode creative variant as well. The config file is generated the first time the server starts after the mod is placed in its mods folder.

An in-game toggle is exposed through the gamerule disableCommandEnabled. Setting it to true turns blocking on, and setting it to false disables blocking temporarily, for example during maintenance or troubleshooting, without restarting the server or touching the file. The feedback messages are multilingual.

The mod is server-side only, so clients need nothing installed. It works in single-player with an integrated server as well as on dedicated servers. The build targets Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, and is published as release 1.0 for 1.21.11 under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Config-based command blocklist

A plain list in the config file names the commands to block, so no code or data pack is needed.

  2. Prefix matching

Blocked entries match any command that starts with the listed string, covering longer variants of the same command.

  3. In-game gamerule toggle

The disableCommandEnabled gamerule turns blocking on or off while the server keeps running.

  4. Multilingual feedback

Messages shown when a command is blocked are available in several languages.

Who it’s for: Server owners and administrators who want to restrict commands on a NeoForge server. Players who join the server need nothing installed.

How it compares

Full comparison

NeoForge Command Blocker is also a NeoForge server mod, but it targets 1.21.1 only and is under All rights reserved. Command Blocker is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only and covers Fabric and NeoForge across 1.20.1 – 1.21.5, so it reaches older builds and a second loader. Quick Command Tools is client-side only and is not open source, so it does not replace a server-side blocker.
