Dimension Localized Inventories
by StyStatic
Dimension Localized Inventories gives each dimension its own separate inventory, so items carried from one world do not follow the player into the next.
What it does
Once the mod is installed, every dimension has an inventory of its own. A player who enters the Nether or the End arrives with only the items and tools found in that dimension, so gear from the overworld stays behind unless it is brought back deliberately. The author's stated aim is to keep progression in each dimension tied to the resources and challenges it offers.
The separation can be configured in detail. Dimensions can be grouped so that members share one inventory, and individual dimensions can be excluded from the system. Client and server both need the mod, because the inventory handling runs on both sides. The mod is Forge only, with files for 1.16.5 – 1.20.1 and 1.9fe for 1.20.1 as the latest release, published under All rights reserved and not open source.
Key features
Separate dimension inventories
Each dimension keeps its own inventory, so items do not carry over when a player travels between worlds.
Configurable dimension groups
Dimensions can be grouped to share one inventory, which lets a pack keep linked worlds together.
Excluded dimensions
Selected dimensions can be left out of the system, so they keep the usual shared inventory behavior.
Progression-focused design
Limiting items to each dimension is meant to keep the challenge of a new world intact, with fewer over-powered tools carried in.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Dimension progression packs
Pack makers can keep each dimension's challenge intact by stopping gear from one world being used to skip another.
Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack builders who want each dimension to feel like its own survival challenge, and players who prefer to gather resources locally in every new world.
How it compares
No Dimension is a server-side only option under the MIT License, open source, for Fabric and Forge on 1.19.3 – 1.20.4. Dimension Access Manager covers the client and server environment and is published for Forge and NeoForge on 1.17.1 – 26.3, under All rights reserved. Dimensional Inventory is server-side only, not open source, and has a single 1.16.5 build.
