Deltatime
Deltatime lets datapacks take control of some vanilla features, such as item cooldowns and the tick counter, by exposing them as values a datapack can read and set.
What it does
Deltatime gives datapacks access to vanilla features that normally run without their input. A datapack can read the previous tick duration in microseconds and use it to measure real time, which is useful for a counter that needs to track elapsed time more precisely than the game tick count alone. Item cooldowns can be changed in the same way, so an item kind can show the cooldown animation that follows an ender pearl use.
The mod also changes NBT values that control player abilities. A boolean property can make a player fly regardless of other settings, or stop a player from flying, and a player who lands low on the ground or enters spectator mode is switched back to flying. Players do not need to install anything on their side. The server runs Deltatime, and the mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, with files for 1.20.4 and 1.21.1.
Installation requires Fabric or Quilt on the server. Files are published for both loaders, with the latest Fabric and Quilt builds both at version 1.0.1 for 1.21.1, released on 2024-09-25 on the beta channel.
Key features
Cooldown control
Datapacks can read and set item cooldowns, so an item kind can display the cooldown animation used after an ender pearl.
Tick duration in microseconds
The previous tick duration is exposed in microseconds, giving datapacks a more precise time base than the tick count.
Player flight properties
A boolean NBT property makes a player fly regardless of other settings, or stops flight, and switches a spectator back to flying.
Counter that passes zero
A counter can jump over 0 in either direction, and a datapack can run a function for every action between the previous and the current value.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Datapack authors and server owners who need precise timing, cooldown displays or player flight control through datapacks. Players do not need to install the mod.
How it compares
Counter Mod is server-side only and uses the MIT License, published for 1.20.4 – 1.21.1, but it is not open source. Day Counter Enhanced is client-side only under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only, and its files cover 1.21.2 – 1.21.11, so it does not overlap with Deltatime's versions.

What the author says
Minecraft mod making datapacks able to take control of some vanilla features In this example, we are trying to run "function my:action" after "untilaction objective" ticks run. If we want to make it independant of server performance, we need to add a larger number of ticks to the counter, if the server lags. This…
