Defend Your Base
by Scrall
Defend Your Base turns ordinary survival into a base defense game, where waves of attacking mobs arrive during raids and a player builds and repels them.
What it does
Raids begin after a set number of game days and bring hordes of enemies that storm the shelter. Players survive by defending their buildings, and the outcome changes experience: a successful defense grants experience, while a failed one takes some away. The mod is built for players who want survival to carry a strategic, territorial focus rather than quiet building and exploration.
Each raid draws from a themed pool of mobs, including insect invaders, undead hordes, machine forces and a dark-magic group, and the configuration sets spawn distances, the number of raids and the experience rewards for each wave. The author shares a sample configuration, so server owners can start from a tested layout and adjust it.
Defend Your Base runs on Forge for 1.20.1 only, and needs the Client and server environment, so both the server and every player must install it. The latest file is 1.2.0 for 1.20.1, published 2025-04-26, and the mod is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.

Who it’s for: Survival players and server owners who want raids and experience tied to base defense, and who are comfortable adjusting a configuration file.
