Death coordinates
Death Coordinates sends the exact position of a player's last death to chat the moment they respawn, so items dropped in an unexpected place can be found again.
What it does
When a player dies and respawns, the mod writes the X, Y and Z coordinates of the death point into the chat log right away. The message appears only in that player's chat, so other players on a server cannot see where the death happened. No menus, GUIs or configuration files are needed, and the mod works after installation without any setup.
The mod is aimed at single-player survival worlds and multiplayer servers alike. Its purpose is to shorten the search for dropped items after a sudden death, which otherwise means retracing the route by memory. It is built to leave core gameplay unchanged and is described as having no measurable effect on performance.
Death Coordinates runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, with builds covering 1.20.1 – 1.21.5 across six release versions. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source, and the public issue tracker is the only linked project resource.
Key features
Coordinates after respawn
Right after respawning, the death point's X, Y and Z values appear in the chat log.
Private to the player
Only the player who died receives the message, so other players on a server do not see the location.
No setup required
The mod works out of the box, with no complex menus, GUIs or configuration files to edit.
Single-player and servers
The same behavior applies in single-player survival and on multiplayer servers.
