D-Sides Creeper
by JustAGuy
D-Sides Creeper adds the Lurker, a Creeper-like mob that digs into the ground in Lush Caves and emerges when a player comes near.
What it does
The Lurker spawns rarely in Lush Caves. It burrows into the ground and stays hidden until a player approaches, then rises to attack. When it dies it drops Lurker Fragments, which are the material for the mod's crafted explosives: the Landmine Block and the Bomb Item. The concept comes from Agente R, and the mod is built on top of Geckolib and Utils, so Geckolib must be installed alongside it.
Client and server both need the mod, so every player on a server that runs it needs it too. The latest Forge build is 1.5.5 for 1.20.1, and the latest NeoForge build is 2.1.0 for 1.21.1. The code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved.

Use cases

Players exploring Lush Caves meet the Lurker unexpectedly and can collect its fragments to craft traps.
Who it’s for: Players who want a new hostile mob with a stealth-based ambush behaviour, and players who prefer crafted explosives such as landmines and bombs.
How it compares
Creeper Infection is server-side only, with files for 1.20.1 – 1.21.5, and is not open source. No Creepers is a Forge-only server mod for 1.20.1 where the server is required and the client is optional, so it differs from D-Sides Creeper, which needs both sides. Anti-Creeper is server-side only, open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and runs on Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt, which D-Sides Creeper does not cover.
