What it does

The collection bundles many cursed Minecraft items. Most are tools, armor and food with odd or harmful effects: a pickaxe that eats its own durability, a bucket that spills what it holds at once, and a Bedrock Apple that is edible but ends in death. Some items are useful despite their names, and others are closer to trolling, each with a purpose in the pack.

The mod is server required and client optional. The server must run it so the items and their effects exist, while a player may leave it out and still join. It is distributed as a data pack as well as through the loaders, and builds exist for 1.20.6 – 1.21.6 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. The code is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution No Derivatives 4.0, so the mod is not open source.

Key features

  1. Cursed tools

Tools such as the Meat Pickaxe and a Diamond Pickaxe variant that combines four diamond pickaxes into one.

  2. Item effects

The Broken Bucket empties its contents immediately, and the Black Hole destroys a single item in a guerrilla fashion.

  3. Armor and food

The Ender Pearl Armor turns the wearer into an Enderman, and the Ender Pearl Helmet keeps Endermen peaceful toward the wearer.

  4. Throwable explosives

An explosive item that can be thrown, adding a playful hazard to combat and building.

Use cases

Adventure maps

Trolling on servers

Server owners can hand out the odd items to players as pranks with a purpose.

Who it’s for: The collection suits players who enjoy unusual, mischievous items in survival play, and server owners who want optional novelties without changing core mechanics.

What the author says

The Cursed Item Collection is an updating datapack filled with weird cursed and uncanny items that shouldn't be in Minecraft that I have coded in. The best part is that some of the items are actually useful! While the rest are complete trolls with no purpose. There are currently 12 items with more items coming out in…
