CubicStruct
by Abstrusle
CubicStruct lets a world load custom structures from NBT files, with simple JSON parameters that set where and how they generate.
What it does
Structures are saved from the vanilla structure block as .nbt files, then placed in the cubicstructs folder under the base Minecraft directory, where the mod picks them up during world generation. Each structure has a JSON file that sets its name, a short description, the dimensions it may spawn in (-1 for the Nether, 0 for the Overworld, 1 for the End), the biomes it is limited to, its maximum decay, and its placement. Biome lists are used in place of a blacklist, since a blacklist conflict can wrongly block a structure.
The mod also fills structures with generated content: a random villager with a chosen profession (farmer, librarian, cleric, blacksmith, butcher or nitwit), a random monster spawner dungeon pool, and random blocks drawn from a provided list. A seed keeps the choices the same across generations, and loot tables for chests can point to the iloot entries, such as chests/fish, so custom loot does not require a separate mod. The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing anything.
Key features
NBT structure import
Structures saved with the vanilla structure block load as .nbt files, so no code is needed to add a new one.
JSON generation settings
Each structure's name, description, dimensions, biomes, decay and placement are set in its own JSON file.
Random villagers
Villagers spawn with a chosen profession, and an id can be given in place of a profession name.
Random blocks and dungeons
Random blocks from a listed set and a random monster spawner dungeon pool add variety, with a seed for repeatable results.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Requirements
Dependencies declared by the latest file for each loader.

Use cases
Custom villages and outposts
A map maker can save a building in the structure block and set it to appear only in chosen biomes.
Modpack worldgen
Pack authors can add structures with their own loot without writing a Java mod.
Who it’s for: Server owners, map makers and pack authors who want their own structures in a 1.12.2 Forge world. Players only need the server to run the mod.
