Create: Var Tag lets Create redstone links use text names as their channel instead of item frequencies, for players building larger redstone control systems.
What it does
Redstone links in Create are normally paired by item frequency, and that gets hard to organize as a base grows. This addon adds a Variable Name Tag, crafted from an iron nugget and an iron sheet, that sets a link's channel to a string name. Right-clicking with the tag opens a screen where the variable name is typed, and existing names from the same dimension appear in a list below to be filled in with a click. A link's frequency slot shows the string name, and only tags carrying the same variable name match each other.
Installation needs Create, which is a required dependency. The mod runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it, and it is published for NeoForge 1.21.1 only. The code is released under the MIT License and the source code is public. Its first file appeared on 2026-05-03, and the latest is 1.1.0 for 1.21.1, dated 2026-05-16.

String-named channels
A redstone link takes its channel from a text name set on a Variable Name Tag, so related links can share a readable label.
Name picker screen
The tag's screen lists variable names already used in the current dimension, so an existing name can be chosen with one click.
Conversion Wand
A creative-mode Conversion Wand swaps variable tags in the current dimension for plain items, triggered by a right-click with the wand.
Vanilla fallback
Converted items stay in the world as ordinary items, so the map still works after the mod is removed. Conversion is permanent.
