Create: Electro Energetics

by GeorgeVI

Create: Electro Energetics adds a realistic electrical simulation to Create, where generators induce voltage and devices draw current instead of consuming an abstract energy unit.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1

What it does

Sources in the mod induce voltage rather than producing a generic energy unit, and devices allow current to flow and perform work with it. Because current is simulated, short circuits, voltage drops and energy losses can occur on a grid. The simulation runs on a separate thread from the game.

The focus covers generation, transmission, distribution and use of electric power. Pumps, heaters and other electrical components can draw current directly, and a converter block links the grid to machines that use Forge Energy. Electrified railways and electric trains are part of the content. The simulation stays on direct current by default, with alternating current planned for a separate addon.

Create: Electro Energetics requires Create. It is published for NeoForge 1.21.1 only, with the latest file 1.21.1-1.1.4 released on 2026-10-14. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. The code is under the MIT License and is open source.

Key features

  1. Simulated current flow

Electric current moves through conductors according to the simulation, so changes in load affect the whole circuit.

  2. Voltage and losses

Voltage drops along long lines and energy is lost in transmission, which the grid design has to account for.

  3. Forge Energy converter

A dedicated block converts electricity to Forge Energy, so machines from other mods can be powered from the grid.

  4. Electrified railways

Trains can run on electrified track fed by the grid, drawing current as they move.

Use cases

Who it’s for: Players who want electricity to behave according to how the circuit is built, rather than as a single shared pool of energy, and who are willing to learn how the grid responds to load.

What the author says

Most implementations of electricity in Minecraft mods are really basic, like a one-way fluid simulation. This implementation is different, it realistically simulates current flow. Sources now induce voltage instead of generating an abstract unit called 'fe', devices don't consume these units, instead they allow…
