Alloyed

by Cassian

With Alloyed, players can make Bronze and Steel, two alloys of Copper and Iron, in a new Alloy Forge block.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.19.2 – 26.3

What it does

Alloyed adds two metal alloys to the game: Bronze, made from Copper, and Steel, made from Iron. Bronze is aimed at decorations and instruments, while Steel is used for structures and tools. Both are produced in the Alloy Forge, a workstation block that the mod introduces for crafting these alloys and related items.

The mod is meant to sit alongside other content in a modpack, and its blocks and items can be used in ordinary building and crafting. Alloyed requires Create and Fabric API, and McQoy and Reliable Recipe Viewer (RRV) are optional companions. Create is needed on Fabric and NeoForge alike for the alloy recipes it shares with the rest of the mod. Two catalog mods require Alloyed: Alloyed and Create Gunsmithing compatablity pack, and Valcon.

Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 8 release versions, spanning 1.19.2 – 26.3, and the environment is client and server, so both the server and every player need the mod. The code is open source under the MIT License. Development currently targets 1.21.1 and 26.1, and newer updates are not planned for older loaders or versions.

  1. Bronze alloy

Questions

Does Alloyed need Create?

Yes. Create is a required dependency, and Fabric API is required as well. Version 3.0 dropped the Create requirement, so older builds such as 1.20.1 and 1.19.2 need Create installed.

Should Fabric players use the NeoForge file with a launcher tool?

The author advises that players on Fabric 1.21.1 who run Create through a launcher use the NeoForge build of Alloyed instead of the Fabric build.

Which versions does Alloyed receive new updates for?

New updates target 1.21.1 and 26.1 only, on Fabric and NeoForge. Older versions and other loaders are not planned for later releases.
