Cobblemon Roboto Validator

by MrRoboto

Cobblemon Roboto Validator checks a Cobblemon team against a chosen battle format before a player commits to a tournament.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1 – 1.21.10

What it does

The validator lets players confirm that a Pokémon team follows the rules of a specific competitive battle format. It checks the species, moves, abilities and held items of each team member before the player proceeds, so the squad's legality is verified in advance. Each format is set by a configuration file that lists banned forms and the Evasion, Repeated Item and Repeated Species clauses.

The mod requires Cobblemon and Cloth Config API, and runs on Fabric. Because it is a client and server mod, both the server and every player need it. Files are published for Fabric across 10 release versions, with 1.1.0 for 1.21.10 as the latest build. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source.

Key features

  1. Format-based team checks

Each team is validated against the rules of one battle format, so a squad can be tested before entering a particular competition.

  2. Banned form list

A configurable list names the special forms that a format excludes, written as species and form name pairs.

  3. Evasion Clause validation

The validator tests a team against the Evasion Clause, which governs evasion-raising moves and abilities.

  4. Repeated clause checks

Separate checks cover the Repeated Item Clause and the Repeated Species Clause, so duplicate held items or species are caught.

A server owner can define the formats in the configuration file so that teams are checked against the same rules everywhere.

Who it’s for: Players preparing for competitive Cobblemon battles, and server owners who run tournaments with set formats and team rules.
