Cobblemon Mass Outbreaks

by Scouter567

Players who run Cobblemon on a server can trigger Mass Outbreaks with Cobblemon Mass Outbreaks, an addon that spawns swarms of Pokémon around the player.

What it does

When a Mass Outbreak starts, groups of Pokémon appear near the player instead of at fixed spawn points. Four individuals of the same species show up first, and new ones keep appearing as the player defeats or catches them, until the swarm is cleared. Each outbreak produces roughly 10 to 15 Pokémon, and shiny variants are more likely to turn up among them.

The addon requires Cobblemon, and the server must run it while players may join without it. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.19.2, 1.20, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the source code is published under the MIT License. New outbreaks are defined in the outbreaks file, which server owners can extend.

Key features

  1. Roaming outbreaks

Swarms appear wherever the player happens to be, not only at predefined map locations.

  2. Same-species swarms

Each outbreak starts with four Pokémon of one species, and more of that species appear as they are dealt with.

  3. Enhanced shiny chance

Shiny variants are more likely to appear during a Mass Outbreak than in regular encounters.

  4. Extendable outbreak list

New outbreaks are added through the outbreaks file, so the set of species can be changed without code.

In this mod, the outbreaks spawn around the player rather than being limited to specific locations. When a Mass Outbreak is triggered, swarms of Pokémon spawn near the outbreak, with four of the same…
