Cobblemon Alpha Project
by Cudzer
Cobblemon Alpha Project spawns rare Alpha Pokémon in the wild world of Cobblemon, with enhanced stats, herd behavior and datapack-driven spawning.
What it does
Alpha Pokémon appear naturally during world generation as rare, stronger wild encounters. Each Alpha is surrounded by a herd whose members keep loose formation around it, flee when the Alpha enters battle, regroup once danger passes, and stay permanently linked to their Alpha.
Spawning is controlled through datapacks, so pack makers can choose which species become Alphas and set the rules around them. Options cover shiny and hidden ability boosts, size scaling for wild-spawned Alphas and underground Alpha spawns. The mod is published for Fabric and NeoForge on 1.21.1, and it needs the server to run while the client mod is optional.
Cobblemon Alpha Project is a server-required mod with a client optional install. Other mods such as VTMon (Cobblemon: Vtubers LATAM Edition) depend on it. The code is under the MIT License and is open source, with public links to source code, an issue tracker and a wiki.
Key features
Rare Alpha encounters
Alpha Pokémon have enhanced stats and behaviors, and they appear as uncommon wild encounters in the world.
Herd behavior
Herd members keep formation around their Alpha, flee during battle and return afterward, tracking the Alpha permanently.
Species-specific spawning
Datapacks decide which species can spawn as Alphas, so spawn lists can be tuned for each species separately.
Shiny and hidden ability boosts
Optional boosts add shiny chances and hidden abilities to Alpha Pokémon, which the server owner can switch on or off.
Improved IVs and move tutors
Alphas can have improved IVs and optional hidden abilities, and tutor moves can be mastered on them.
