Chunksmith
by Kishku7
With Chunksmith installed, a server can pre-generate its world ahead of players and build distant-horizon terrain data during the same pass.
What it does
Chunksmith generates chunks before players reach them, so the world loads without waiting on worldgen. The same run also builds the distant-horizon data used by Distant Horizons or voxy, and it switches that LOD generation on automatically whenever a supported renderer is present. Players therefore see terrain to the edge of their view from the first visit.
Pacing is driven by server tick health rather than absolute tick time, so a busy server is not throttled for load it did not cause. Each online player lowers the allowance, and when the server cannot keep up the run pauses with a stated reason and resumes once conditions recover. The /cs pause command always takes precedence.
Chunksmith requires Fabric API on Fabric, is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and also runs on Paper, Spigot, Bukkit and Folia. It is server required and client optional, and the code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. Files cover 1.20 – 26.3, and snapshot builds are published as well.
Key features
Combined chunk and LOD pass
One pregeneration run produces both loaded chunks and terrain data for a renderer, so the view extends without a second job.
Tick-aware throttling
The allowance shrinks as players join and as measured added tick time grows, and the run pauses itself when the server cannot sustain it.
LOD without full storage
The horizon command generates past a radius, keeps the LOD data and discards the chunk, so distant terrain shows without saving every chunk.
Adjustable request concurrency
The dispatchMaxConcurrent setting scales to CPU count and can be changed live to raise chunks per second.
Compatibility

How it compares
Chunky Offline is server required and client optional, released under the MIT License, and covers 1.21 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, so it does not build LOD data. Voxy WorldGen is client and server on Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.1 – 26.2 under a custom license and is not open source. LOD Server Support works on either side, and neither side needs it; it is open source under the MIT License and covers 1.20.1 – 26.3 on Fabric and NeoForge.

What the author says
Chunksmith generates chunks ahead of time so players never wait on worldgen. What makes it different is that the same pass also builds the distant-horizon data for Distant Horizons or voxy. One run, two results: a world that loads instantly, and a world you can see to the edge of. Originally derived from Chunky by…
