ChemicalCraft

by Meyola

ChemicalCraft is a Forge mod for 1.20.1 that turns chemistry, metallurgy and nuclear physics into crafting, from flasks and polymers to alloys and fissile materials.

ForgeClient and serverBSD 3-Clause License1.20.1

What it does

Players start with standard chemistry: a glass flask is crafted first, and flasks filled with water can be combined in a bucket to begin the chemical progression. Many chemical elements are obtained through flasks, and the mod includes polymers such as rubber, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene and polytetrafluoroethylene. Aluminum is produced chemically rather than mined as ore, using bauxite and electrolysis in a lead battery, while most powders are obtained in a stonecutter.

Metallurgy is a second stage. Coke coal is made in a smokehouse, and it turns into the powders used for smelting. Most metal ingots are included, and steel is offered as a stronger alternative to iron, which is needed for stainless steel and for many crafts. Graphite steel tools and tungsten armor are part of the set, and the nuclear section adds uranium, plutonium and a thermonuclear bomb. Stainless steel, diamond drills and electrical circuitry form the later crafting tier.

The mod is large and covers many chemistry-themed items, so the content is spread across three parts. Russian and English localization is included, and the author notes that development builds are available on request through Discord. JEI is recommended to browse recipes.

Key features

  1. Chemistry progression

Flasks, water and bottles open a chain of chemistry crafts that leads to new elements and materials.

  2. Polymers and synthetic materials

Rubber, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene and other polymers are crafted as items in the mod.

  3. Chemically produced aluminum

Aluminum comes from bauxite through electrolysis in a lead battery, not from an ore block.

  4. Metallurgy and alloys

Smokehouse coke, stonecutter powders and smelted ingots support steel, stainless steel, graphite steel and tungsten armor.

  5. Nuclear materials

Uranium, plutonium and a thermonuclear bomb are part of the nuclear physics section.
