Cavernous Lite

Cavernous Lite is a NeoForge data pack that rebuilds cave generation in the world with new cave types, from fungal and volcanic caves to icy and marbled ones.
What it does
The data pack adds fungal caves, where mushrooms of many kinds grow from the floor and a few hang from the roof. Volcanic caves, crystal caves with full amethyst geodes, arid caves that generate under deserts, savannas and badlands, buried jungle, icy caves whose ores sit under a layer of ice, marbled caves and lush dripstone caves each add a distinct terrain and set of resources. Some deep caves hold more diamonds than the usual cave biome, but lava rivers run through many of them, and falling sand can trap careless players in the arid caves.
The pack is a rebuilt version of the earlier Cavernous mod and is described as more compatible with other mods and data packs, and as backwards compatible with previous versions of Cavernous. The author plans to bring back most of the original content, with some items returning as before and others changed. Only the server needs the pack, so players may join without installing it, and it is distributed under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. NeoForge files target 1.21.10 – 26.2, with 0.0.2 for 26.2 as the latest beta.

Crystal caves contain full amethyst geodes that glow, while volcanic caves carry lava and their own terrain.

Deep caves with extra diamonds
Caves found at the bottom of the world hold more diamonds than the usual cave biome, but lava rivers make them hard to cross.

Nether Geodes is a NeoForge mod for 1.21.1, with a custom license, and it runs on the client and server together, so it does not match this pack's version or setup. Stellarity ~ Lite is open source under the MIT License and spans 1.20 – 26.2 across four loaders. Either side can run it, and neither needs it, which is the same setup this pack uses for its server. Amethyst Caves targets only 1.21.5 and is published under a Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0 license.
