Cats on Head

Tamed cats can be equipped with a cat head item, and the mod adds several improvements to cats, including fixes, a leveling system and changes to morning gifts. A cat's level depends on how many fish it has been fed, up to a maximum of level 5, and each level brings beneficial effects such as extra attack damage, underwater movement speed, a jump boost, immunity to fall damage, damage protection and extra luck when fishing. Fatal Poison is noted as an effect that is described separately.

The mod runs on the client and on the server, so both sides need it. It is published for Fabric and Quilt across eight game versions, 1.21.4 – 1.21.11, and it bundles the Trinket and Cardinal Components API, with the Trinket API used for the equipment slots. Baby cats drop themselves as an item, and item entities for cat items never disappear until their owner picks them up. The mod is open source under the Apache License 2.0 and its source code is public.
