Cassette Player Plus lets a music disc be converted into a portable cassette that plays while the player carries it, and into a placeable Boombox block.
What it does
Players convert a music disc into a cassette, carry it in the hand, and listen to it anywhere in the world. Cassettes can be inserted into a player, ejected, and skipped to the next track, so a tape can be played like a mix tape. Modded discs are compatible with the conversion as well.
The Boombox is a placeable block that broadcasts its cassette audio into the surrounding area, and other players hear it fade with distance. Sneaking and right-clicking a playing Boombox picks it up again. Music note particles appear around it, including while it is carried, and a tape insert sound plays before the music starts. Zombies and skeletons near a playing Boombox at night stop attacking and start dancing, which can be turned off with a config option.
Cassette Player Plus is built for NeoForge and runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. It is released under the MIT License and is open source. Files exist for 1.21.1 only, and the latest file is 3.4 for 1.21.1.
