Canned Goods :|
by ytBlueIvey
Canned Goods :| lets players store food in tins and cans that take up little space, and the mod also adds canned foods and a golem mob.
What it does
Canned Goods adds canned food items to Minecraft, including three soda cans packed into a single canned good. The canned foods are meant to be stored compactly, so a single inventory slot holds more food than usual. The author describes the mod as lengthening adventures by letting players carry supplies for longer trips.
The mod also adds a few extra items and a mob. Among them are a throwable Mini Fizz, a Mysterious Beanie vanity item, a Canned Golem mob, and a crushed empty can that can be used in crafting. Cans can be recycled. Because the mod is in the Food category, it mainly changes how food is carried and used, and it fits adventure play and modpacks alike. The author plans future compatibility with the Create mod.
The mod is built for Forge and is published for 1.18.2 and 1.19.2. The latest file, 1.0.3, targets 1.19.2. The environment is client and server, so the server and every player need the mod, and it is released under All rights reserved, which means it is not open source.

How it compares
Cans mod is built for Forge and published for 1.20.1, with the client and server environment and the All rights reserved license, so it is not open source. Beton's Rations and food is also a Forge mod, published for 1.19.4, that runs on client and server and is released under the MIT License, so it is open source. Water & LiFe targets Forge for 1.19.2, runs on client and server, and is also not open source. Canned Goods covers 1.18.2 and 1.19.2 only, so a player on 1.19.4 or 1.20.1 would need one of the other mods.
