Cable Flux
by Zeith
Cable Flux adds energy cables for Forge 1.12.2 that carry Forge Energy between machines, in three tiers with rising throughput.
What it does
Three cable tiers move power at different rates: the first carries 320 FE per tick, the second 3,200 FE per tick, and the last 320,000 FE per tick. Each tier is a separate block, so a network can mix them to suit the load it serves. The design follows the style of Solar Flux Reborn's energy pipes.
The mod is aimed at modpack builders and players who want to move energy over distance without relying on machine adjacency. Its code also lets other developers register custom pipe types and new pipe block instances, with example implementations in the source. An API is included so add-on mods can build further pipe kinds, such as ones meant for fluids or items, and other mods can be included in packs alongside it.
Installation needs HammerLib, which must be present next to Cable Flux. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. It is published only for Forge, under All rights reserved, and the project is not open source, though its source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
First energy cable
The entry tier moves 320 FE per tick, suited to short runs between a few machines.
Second energy cable
The middle tier moves 3,200 FE per tick for larger networks with heavier demand.
Last energy cable
The top tier moves 320,000 FE per tick, far beyond the lower two tiers.
Custom pipe types
Developers can add new pipe types using the example implementation provided in the source.
Extension API
An API lets add-ons register pipe blocks for other resources, such as fluids, items or gases.

How it compares
Refined Pipes is open source under the MIT License and was published for Forge 1.15.2 – 1.18.2 in a client and server environment, so it covers a different version range. XNet is also open source under the MIT License, with files for Forge and NeoForge across 1.10.2 – 1.21.1, and it runs client and server as well. Simpler Wooden Pipes is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only and targets 1.12.2 on Forge alone, which is the same version as Cable Flux.

What the author says
Transporting energy in Solar Flux Reborn's style! Yep. It also adds an API to implement any kind of pipe that you would imagine starting from fluids and items and ending with EMC or gases from Mekanism.
