BunnyHop+
by rensliger
BunnyHop+ brings Source-engine style air strafing to Minecraft, letting players chain jumps and keep control of direction while airborne.
What it does
Modeled on the bunny hopping found in Source Engine games such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life and Quake, BunnyHop+ changes how jumps and air movement behave. Players can chain jumps without losing speed, and strafing in the air lets them steer while keeping momentum. A speedometer shows horizontal speed in blocks per second directly above the hotbar, with a colored bar that changes as speed rises.
The speedometer helps compare movement styles: walking or sprinting reads about 5.6 blocks per second, while bunny hopping can reach around 10. With the default settings, a steady strafe rhythm holds about 9 blocks per second, compared with roughly 6 for ordinary vanilla sprint-jumping. Speeds above that range appear only when the Wishspeed and Air Accelerate values are raised in the config.
BunnyHop+ requires Fabric API, and Mod Menu is optional for changing settings in game. The mod is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0, and it is not open source. Builds cover 1.16.5 – 1.21.8 across ten release versions, with the latest Fabric file, 1.0.2+mc1.21.8, published for 1.21.8 on 2026-09-21.
Key features
Air strafing
Steering in midair with strafe inputs keeps horizontal momentum while the player changes direction.
Chained jumps
Consecutive jumps can be linked without losing speed control, following the rhythm of Source-style movement.
Speedometer HUD
A readout above the hotbar shows horizontal speed in blocks per second, with a colored bar for quick reference.
Adjustable speed limits
Wishspeed and Air Accelerate values in the config set how fast strafing can carry a player, with higher values reaching the red speed range.
