by ptran779dev

B-R.EACH Protocol is a Forge technology mod for 1.20.1 that lets players deploy armed agents into a hostile world by drop pod.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Agents arrive through Beacon-activated drop pods, which the player calls down to a chosen spot. Each agent is an elite soldier built to survive a hostile world, with combat behavior that can be customized. Orbital deployment is the entry point: a beacon has to be placed and activated before any pod can land.

Agents are split into classes with distinct roles, covering defense, assault and support, and each class brings unique abilities. Survival systems add upkeep, since agents need resources to stay operational. The combat AI runs on priority-based behavior, and loadout-driven combat means the equipment an agent carries defines how well it fills its role.

The mod is published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, and runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. The latest Forge file is dated 2026-04-23, and the mod is released under All rights reserved. Source code and an issue tracker are linked publicly.

Key features

  1. Drop pod deployment

Agents are dropped onto the map from orbit through Beacon-activated pods, so arrival is a deliberate action.

  2. Agent classes

Each agent belongs to a class with its own role in defense, assault or support, and its own unique abilities.

  3. Loadout-driven combat

The equipment an agent carries sets its effectiveness in its role, so loadouts are part of the combat design.

  4. Per-agent neural processing

Each agent runs its own RNN-based logic, which lets behavior adapt individually without a heavy cost to server tick rate.

Questions

Does B-R.EACH Protocol need a beacon to deploy agents?

Yes. Agents arrive through Beacon-activated drop pods, so a beacon must be placed and activated first.

Does the mod have to be installed on the server?

Yes. The server and every player need the mod installed.

Which loader and version does B-R.EACH Protocol support?

The mod is published for Forge only, for 1.20.1. No Fabric or Quilt files are listed.

Can agents work without equipment?

Equipment defines how effective an agent is in its role, so loadouts shape how agents perform in combat.

What the author says

The Exogen did not escape extinction. They dispersed it. In their final hours, thousands of cryostasis pods were fired into deep space using planetary railguns—each carrying a single augmented organism.
