Better Render Distance
by w3llidk
Better Render Distance lets players set the render distance below the vanilla minimum of 6 chunks on Fabric, on the client only.
What it does
The mod changes how Minecraft handles chunk rendering so that the minimum render distance can drop under 6 chunks. Vanilla enforces a floor of 6, while this mod allows lower values through the Video Settings menu. The adjustment is made in that existing screen once the mod is installed, and no extra configuration is required.
Players on lower-end systems can use the lower values to reduce rendering load and keep a more minimal setup. The mod is described as lightweight and non-intrusive, and it integrates directly with the existing video settings. Low render distances may affect what is visible, which is an intended result of the settings. It is built to work alongside most other mods.
Better Render Distance is client-side only, so only the client needs it and a server can run without it. It is for Fabric and covers 1.21.10 – 1.21.11, with 0.1.0 for 1.21.11 as the latest beta file. The code is all rights reserved, so it is not open source.
Key features
Render distance below 6
The minimum render distance can be set below the vanilla limit of 6 chunks through the Video Settings menu.
Simple chunk optimization
A chunk-level adjustment lets the game load fewer chunks at its lowest settings, which suits lower-end hardware.
Works out of the box
The settings integrate with Minecraft's existing video options, so no separate configuration screen is needed.
Unobtrusive design
The mod changes only the render distance range and leaves other gameplay systems as they are.

Minimal rendering setups
Players who prefer a sparse view of the world can choose very small render distances to match their preference.
Who it’s for: Players on lower-end systems, and anyone who wants a render distance below the vanilla minimum of 6 chunks on the client.

Random Block Chunk is a Fabric mod for 1.21.10 that needs both client and server and is released under the MIT License.
