Brazier
Brazier is a multiblock structure that stops mobs from spawning inside its radius, and players can build it from ordinary blocks and a lit torch.
What it does
A brazier is built as a tower of base blocks, and a level added to the tower widens the area it covers. Each level extends the effect by 10 blocks, up to a maximum height of 10. Holding the item shows an outline of the area the brazier covers, so builders can check the range before placing it. Lighting a torch in the brazier turns it into a living torch. The structure behaves like a beacon or conduit in that a finished build keeps mobs from spawning around it, and the values are customizable in the config file.
Spawning from the brazier is governed by two abilities that can be disabled separately in the config. One is a fire spell that applies fire resistance to nearby foes. The other summons a Crazed Mage, a caster similar to a vindicator, that only spawns during woodland mansion generation rather than during raids. The rare item that powers the brazier is obtained either by finding a jungle temple or by killing a Crazed Illager. The green flame of the living torch deals fire damage.
Brazier is published for Fabric and Forge across three game versions, 1.18.2, 1.19.2 and 1.20.1, with 6.1.1 as the latest file. It is a client and server mod, so the server and every player need it. Architectury API and Cloth Config API are required, and the code is under a custom license, so the mod is not open source. Source code and an issue tracker are publicly linked.
