Botania Backpack Upgrades

by taisuiyileba

Botania Backpack Upgrades is a Forge addon that lets a backpack store and exchange Botania mana, so a backpack can act as a mana pool placed in the world.

ForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

The addon runs on Minecraft 1.20.1 under Forge. A backpack equipped with the upgrade holds a large mana reserve, with the cap set in the server configuration. When placed in the world, the backpack behaves like a full Botania Mana Pool, accepting mana bursts from mana spreaders.

Adjacent spreaders can draw mana from a backpack placed behind them, just as they would from a normal pool. The backpack also works with ordinary sparks and with the Dispersive, Dominant, Recessive and Isolated spark upgrades. Each side of the backpack can be assigned a direction that controls how mana flows through it. The Wand of the Forest reports the mana held by the backpack it points at.

Key features

  1. Mana storage in backpacks

A backpack with the upgrade keeps a large mana reserve, with the cap set in the server configuration.

  2. Placeable mana pool

Once placed, the backpack accepts mana bursts and works as a full Botania Mana Pool.

  3. Spreader and spark support

Spreaders pull mana from an adjacent backpack, and sparks and their upgrades work with it.

  4. Directional transfer

Each side takes a flow direction, so mana moves in, out or in only one way through the backpack.

  5. Mana readout

Pointing the Wand of the Forest at the backpack displays its exact mana amount.
