Boss Warps

by TheExiIedFeIIow

Boss Warps, by TheExiIedFeIIow, makes a warp point appear at the spot where a boss was defeated, so players can travel back and forth between boss locations.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalMIT License1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

After a supported boss is defeated, the mod generates a warp point where the fight ended. Players are advised to keep their distance while an animation plays before the point appears. Right-clicking the point starts a short animation that transports nearby entities around the spawn location to the warp point, and beams linking the points mark where each entity will go during the warp.

Warp points cannot exist forever. They vanish after roughly 4000 in-game ticks, about 3 minutes 20 seconds, and play a second animation with another small bang before disappearing. The mod automatically supports bosses that register under the forge:bosses and c:bosses entity tags, and bosswarps:spawns marks entities that should produce a warp point. Datapacks can add that tag to a boss that does not use it.

It is required on the server and optional for players. The code is under the MIT License, and the mod is not open source. Files cover game versions 1.20.1, 1.21 and 1.21.1, with the latest build, 1.0.35+mod for 1.21.1, published on 2026-09-20 for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. A Data pack form is also available for servers.

Key features

  1. Warp point after a boss fight

A warp point generates at the location where a supported boss was defeated, with an animation before it appears.

  2. Transport on activation

Right-clicking a warp point moves nearby entities to it, and beams show which entities are linked during the warp.

  3. Timed warp points

Each point lasts about 4000 in-game ticks and then disappears with a final animation.

  4. Entity tag support

Bosses registered under forge:bosses, c:bosses or bosswarps:spawns produce warp points without extra configuration.

Use cases

Returning from a boss arena

A warp point left after a fight gives players a quick route back to the spot where they fought, before it disappears.

Modded boss encounters

Players running several boss mods can use warp points from many bosses in one world, since the mod adjusts to the bosses installed.

Who it’s for: Server owners running boss-focused modpacks who want defeated bosses to leave warp points. Players on a server with the mod can use the points without installing anything themselves.

Questions

Does Boss Warps need to be installed on the client?

No. The server must run it, while players may leave it out.

Which bosses produce a warp point?

Bosses that register under the entity tags named in the mod's documentation do. Datapacks can register other bosses under the bosswarps:spawns tag.

How long does a warp point last?

A warp point lasts about 4000 in-game ticks, roughly 3 minutes 20 seconds, before it vanishes.
