Born in a Barn
by Speiger
Born in a Barn fixes a vanilla bug in which village doors keep the chunks around them loaded, which can hold hundreds of chunks active at once.
What it does
Village doors in vanilla Minecraft can keep their surrounding chunks loaded even when no player is nearby. On servers and single-player worlds that can lock a large number of chunks in memory and slow the game down. The mod corrects this behavior so those chunks are released as normal.
Key features
Village chunk release
Chunks held by village doors are no longer kept loaded when no player is close enough to need them.
Lower chunk load
Fewer chunks stay active across a world, which reduces the memory and processing a server spends on idle areas.
Vanilla behavior restored
The fix targets the village door bug itself and leaves the rest of world generation and gameplay as they are.
