BlockDimensions
by Mcjunky33
BlockDimensions lets server administrators restrict access to the Nether and the End, and control how portals in those dimensions can be used.
What it does
Admins switch dimension access on and off with commands, with separate toggles for Nether portal blocking and End portal usage. When Nether portal blocking is on, any Nether portal block a player tries to activate is destroyed at once, and the player receives a message on the action bar. Placing End portal frames with Ender Eyes can also be disabled, so the End cannot be opened through that route.
The mod is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.9 – 1.21.11, released under the MIT License and open source, with source code publicly available. It is used on servers that want to keep certain dimensions closed to players. Either side can run it, and neither needs it. Fire charges and flint and steel keep working in Survival mode, so ordinary fire-starting is not affected.
Key features
Dimension access commands
Admins toggle access to dimensions with commands, without editing configuration files by hand.
Nether portal blocking
Nether portal blocks are destroyed as soon as a player tries to activate them while blocking is enabled.
End portal control
End portal usage can be enabled or disabled separately from the Nether.
Action bar messages
Players who try to enter a blocked dimension see a message on the action bar explaining the restriction.
End frame placement limits
Placing End portal frames with Ender Eyes is disabled, so blocked End access cannot be opened by building a portal.

How it compares
Vanilla+ Disable Portals is a Fabric mod for 1.21.5 that is server-side only, and it is closed source under All rights reserved. Dimension Blocker is the same kind of tool with a Fabric build for 1.20.1 – 1.21.8, server-side only and open source under the MIT License. Dimension Daddy is also open source under the MIT License, server-side only, and covers 1.21.11 – 26.2. BlockDimensions, by comparison, works on either side, and neither needs it, and covers 1.21.9 – 1.21.11.
