BetterWeather
by bios79
BetterWeather replaces the default sky and precipitation of Minecraft with heavier rain and snow, fog, auroras, solar eclipses and a more detailed moon.
What it does
Rain and snow fall denser and faster, with a calmer ambient rain sound in place of the stock loop. Thick fog rolls over the world and fits forests and oceans. Solar eclipses darken the sky through the middle of the day, with a glowing corona and a diamond ring effect around totality, and the darkness is enough for hostile mobs to spawn during daytime.
Auroras appear over cold biomes such as Snowy Taiga and Ice Spikes Tundras at night, with animated bands of green, purple and pink that fade out later. The moon is replaced by a high-resolution texture with maria, craters and an earthshine glow on the dark side, showing all 8 phases. Installation requires Forge only, and both the server and every player need the mod, since the environment is client and server. Builds are published for 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, with 1.1.5 for 1.20.6 as the latest. BetterWeather is licensed under All rights reserved and is not open source.
